For now, here’s a short video of a house we had an offer on (above photo), which fell through after a competing party threatened to sue the owner. So far, we’ve made offers on two other […]

Itâ??s been just about 6 weeks since Nateâ??s diagnosis. Heâ??s been through a number of blood tests, which has prompted him to ask often if heâ??s going to the â??Pinchy Doctorâ?. The great news is that his platelet counts have eased back into the normal range. Heâ??s due for another checkup in a few weeks, which will really shed some light on whether his body is healing itself or whether the increased counts are due to the Win Rho. Letâ??s hope!

As much as it hurts to think about this, Iâ??m going to reach out to the electrons in my computer for solace (tragic, isnâ??t it?).

My youngest son, Nate, has been diagnosed with a fairly rare blood condition that causes severe bruising (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura). Basically, itâ??s a poorly understood condition (hence â??idiopathicâ?) wherein the spleen destroys the platelets. His platelet count is so low that any sort of minor bump on the head poses severe risk. So, Iâ??m at home caring for him to the best of my ability. No, the play-doh bucket isnâ??t functioning as a helmet.
